Local Homesteading Program

 

AFFORDABLE HOUSES FOR SALE

In cooperation with non-profit agencies, Housing and Community Development (HCD) is offering for sale five (5) homes at affordable prices to low and very low income households who are residents of Palm Beach County. Additionally, HCD will offer subsidies from the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) Program and/or the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) to qualified homebuyers toward the purchase of the homes.

The actual selling price for each home is shown below. The actual subsidy amount will be unique to each household and will be dependent on the household's gross income and family size, among other things.

In order to be eligible to purchase one of the homes, a prospective applicant must be: 1) a current resident of Palm Beach County; 2) have family income, adjusted for familiy size, which does not exceed 80% of the County's median household income level (see chart below); and 3) be a first time homebuyer.

Successful applicants will be subject to residency requirements and repayment of the subsidy in the event of sale or transfer of title prior to the expiration of the residency period.

All homes are ready for immediate occupancy.
