AUTHORITY: Chapter 65-2051, House Bill No. 1817, Laws of Florida; Ordinance No. 87-15.
APPOINTING AUTHORITY: Board of County Commissioners (BCC)
COMPOSITION, QUALIFICATIONS, TERMS AND REMOVAL: This Board shall be composed of seven (7) members. One (1) representative from each of the following technical areas: building, electrical, plumbing, engineer, architect, mechanical and roofing. The members shall be appointed for a staggered term of three (3) years, two (2) years and one (1) year, and shall serve until their successors are appointed and qualify. Members may be reimbursed for necessary travel at rates allowed by the general laws of the State of Florida with prior BCC approval.
MEETINGS: Meetings may be held monthly or as frequently as necessary. Meetings are held at 2300 N. Jog Road, West Palm Beach.
FUNCTIONS: To render interpretations and hear appeals of the provisions of various building, electrical, plumbing, and other construction codes adopted by the BCC. Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals shall also have authority and the responsibility to make recommendations to the BCC with respect to amendments and additions to the various building codes. |
