Annexation coordination is an important function of the Intergovernmental Section. This function includes review of annexations and land use plan changes proposed by other local governments. The Data Section has primary responsibility for collecting and developing data resources related to population demographics and development activity. These databases are used to answer public and agency inquiries about the County, as well as in the preparation of studies and projects. The Data Section also works closely with the Department’s Geographic Information Systems Section of Administration for the mapping and analysis of these data resources. Finally, the Data Section uses these data resources to disperse the Countywide population projections developed by the University of Florida Bureau of Economic and Business Research.
