Priority Redevelopment Areas

Priority Redevelopment Areas (PRAs) are designated sub-regions within the URA that lie along a major commercial corridor that have been targeted for specific detailed planning. To date, 3 PRAs within the URA have been established:

  1. Military Trail from Southern Boulevard to Forest Hill Boulevard;
  2. Congress Avenue from Southern Boulevard to Forest Hill Boulevard;
  3. Lake Worth Road from Congress Avenue to Military Trail.
The selection of PRAs allow for the focused implementation of the County’s redevelopment initiatives. The PRAs are located near or adjacent to many Countywide Community Revitalization Team (CCRT) areas. Overall, the PRAs have both commercial and residential uses . They exhibit prime redevelopment characteristics including vacant and underutilized lands, abandoned buildings, and commercial vacancies that could provide opportunities for infill and redevelopment.
