EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS DRILL
AT
PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The Aviation Battalion of Palm Beach County’s Fire-Rescue Department
will conduct an Emergency Plan drill on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at
9:00 a.m.
The Federal Aviation Administration requires this type of exercise
every three years at airports that provide commercial passenger
service. The drill, labeled “Operation Lima”, will simulate an
aircraft incident to test the readiness of airport, aviation,
fire-rescue, and law enforcement resources. More than 100
volunteers, eight hospitals, and 19 other local, state and federal
agencies will participate.
The media will have the opportunity to observe the drill on the
airfield. “Operation Lima” will occur on the airfield’s northwest
side, near the curve on Belvedere Road, east of Military Trail.
Commercial flights will not be impacted by the drill activity.
