County staff will hold an informational meeting with the public on Tuesday, October 12 to explain the elements of proposed Scripps zoning changes and comprehensive plan amendments, as well as an economic analysis of costs associated with relocating the Scripps project to alternate sites.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the Jane M. Thompson Memorial Chambers on the sixth floor of the County Governmental Center , 301 N. Olive Avenue , West Palm Beach.

Staff will explain the various components of the planned biotechnology research park at Mecca Farms, along with the required Comprehensive Plan amendments, Unified Land Development Code amendments, zoning petition for the Mecca site and zoning petition to allow for an accessory multi-use site.

This informational meeting is in advance of a series of public hearings by the Board of County Commissioners on October 13 at 10 a.m. The hearings were continued from the October 5, 2004 County Commission meeting.
