Who stole kennel staffs' hearts? It was Professor Plum at the PBCACC shelter with his winning attitude!

Professor Plum (A2158799) is a friendly, playful, 5-year-old, neutered dog that weighs 66 pounds and has been at PBCACC for over 140 days.

Back in early November 2023, PBCACC received a call from one of its partners about two skinny dogs that were tied outside their facility. Professor Plum, as well as a chowchow named Rose, appeared to have been abandoned. An animal control officer was called to the scene to take the dogs to the PBCACC shelter so they could be examined and evaluated by clinic staff.

The clinic staff determined that Professor Plum had callouses, was emaciated and weighed at least 20 pounds less than he does now. Despite the poor shape he was in, staff noted that he was very sweet.

Rose was adopted by a rescue partner in December. But, over 140 days since he arrived, Professor Plum is PBCACC's longest resident and is waiting for someone to choose him and become part of a family.

Kennel staff and volunteers have so many positive reviews for Professor Plum. Not only is he incredibly cute with his patches and big smile, but he has a great attitude and a love for treats! Professor Plum has a medium energy level so whether he is going for a hike or cuddling on the couch, he makes an excellent companion. He lets visitors know that he's excited to be let out so he can show off his stuff!

Professor Plum is an ideal furry friend who just needs to be given a chance to shine in a home where he can give get the love, care and attention that he deserves.
