Vice Mayor Weinroth is pleased to announce the recent installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Governmental Center parking garage in West Palm Beach. He has been advocating for these stations since taking office in 2018.

This is part of a pilot program which will include the installation of additional charging stations at other county facilities such as the Palm Beach County Convention Center and courthouses. The county has contracted with a private contractor who will install and maintain the stations, charging market rates for its users.

As technology improves and pricing becomes equivalent to engine vehicles, the use of electric vehicles will significantly increase. Not only are they less expensive to operate than gasoline or diesel powered vehicles, EVs will positively impact our environment since they produce less greenhouse gas.

As the vice-chairman of the Palm Beach County Transportation Planning Agency, Vice Mayor Weinroth will continue to advocate for new and innovative technology in addressing future transportation challenges.
