Vice Mayor Weinroth announced the Board of County Commissioners has approved an agreement with South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) to install new Palm Tran ticket vending machines (TVMs) at Tri-Rail stations throughout Palm Beach County.
"Convenience for the transit rider is key and this partnership accomplishes that," said Weinroth.
Under this agreement, SFRTA will provide space within their ticket vending areas at five of the six Tri-Rail stations since they are owned and operated by SFRTA and/or FDOT. TVMs will not be installed at Mangolia Park Station at this time which is located on privately-owned property.
The new ticket vending machines are expected to be installed in before the end of the year.
