At the December 7, 2021 Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board took the following action:

Administration – adopted an ordinance redistricting the boundaries of the seven county commission districts.

Airports – approved an amendment with Turner Construction Company for airport improvements in the amount of $12,578,174; approved a budget transfer of $2,257,640 in the airport’s Improvement and Development Fund.

Criminal Justice Commission – approved a donation agreement with the State of Florida, Department of Corrections for the purchase and subsequent donation of a Mobile Felony Probation Unit; approved an Interlocal Agreement for the operation of the mobile unit; authorized the county administrator or designee to execute any amendments, documents and reports related to the agreements.

Engineering & Public Works – determined that the county has adhered to and implemented its Five Year Road Program; adopted Chapter 23, Article 1, Section 23-1(C) of the County Code; approved the Five Year Road Program Findings of Fact Memo; approved the hiring of professionals necessary to undertake the projects identified in the program.

Facilities Development & Operations – received and filed staff’s report regarding the status of the collaboration with the University of Florida and the City of West Palm Beach towards the development of an urban campus.

Named conference room #113 at the Wellington Branch Library “Mayor Tom and Regis Wenham Conference Room.”

Named children’s meeting room #116 at the Wellington Branch Library “Mayor Kathy Foster Children’s Activities Room.”

Financial Management & Budget – adopted resolution No. R2018- 1255, approving revisions to the investment policy and providing for an effective date.

Fire Rescue – approved a preliminary reading and permission to advertise for a public hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at 9:30 am, regarding the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Emergency Transport Fee Ordinance.

Approved a five-year contract with OneBlood Inc., not to exceed amount of $341,750. The agreement allows Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to secure and administer blood components increasing the opportunity for survivability in critically ill trauma patients; approved a business associate agreement with OneBlood Inc.

Housing & Economic Development – adopted the issuance of the Housing Finance Authority of Palm Beach County Multifamily Housing Revenue Bonds in the principal amount of $14,000,000. Neither the taxing power nor the faith and credit of the County nor any County funds are pledged to pay the principal, redemption premium, if any, or interest on the Bonds.

Planning Zoning & Building – approved an increase of one position to the Human Resources Department personnel complement of one Human Resources Specialist I At Will position; approved a budget transfer of $53,828 within the Building Division Fund to appropriate funding for this position.

Public Safety - approved a preliminary reading and permission to advertise for a public hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at 9:30 am, amending the Palm Beach County Emergency Medical Services Ordinance to allow for alternative audit.

Service Awards – presented annual Service Awards to 268 county employees with 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 50 years of service.

Water Utilities – approved the appointment of Pollop Phonpornwithoon, Director of Utility Operations, as the alternate Palm Beach County representative on the East Central Regional Wastewater Treatment Facilities Operation Board.
