​At the Dec. 6, 2022 Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board took the following action:

Administration – concurred with the appointment by the State Surgeon General of Jyothi Gunta, MD, MPS, as the Director of the Palm Beach County Health Department.

Received and filed the updated Board Directive Reports, including in process and completed board directive items.

Airports – approved the Corrective Action Plan required by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Final Agency Decision in Forman v. Palm Beach County, FAA Docket No. 16-17-13 for submission to the FAA for approval, providing for a commitment to the repeal of Section 12-6(a) of airport regulations, which prohibits pure turbo-jet aircraft and aircraft over 12,500 pounds, engaging in air cargo operations, from operating at the Palm Beach County Lantana Park Airport.

Community Revitalization – approved the FY 2023 Neighborhood Engagement and Transformation (NEAT) Grant Agreements to implement various community improvement projects and initiatives through the NEAT Grants Program for a total of $98,000.

Engineering & Public Works – approved a budget transfer of $1,580,000 in the General Fund from Contingency Reserves to the County Transportation Trust Fund; and approved a budget amendment of $1,580,000 in the County Transportation Trust Fund to recognize the transfer and appropriate it to Streetscape Section Contractual Services.

Facilities Development & Operations – provided direction to staff to hold a workshop related to the history of the Agricultural Reserve and the potential text amendment to the county's Comprehensive Plan to allow for the development of the Brookside property in light of the restrictions that currently encumber the same.

Financial Management & Budget – provided direction to staff to continue moving forward with the county's current six strategic priorities. The priorities include housing/homelessness, economic development, public safety, substance use and behavior disorders, environmental protection and infrastructure.

Resilience – adopted the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact Regional Climate Action Plan (RCAP) 3.0; and authorized the signing of a pledge to signify BCC support for regional collaboration, action on climate change, and RCAP 3.0 at the upcoming 14th Annual Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit.

Service Awards – presented annual Service Awards to 275 county employees with 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service.
