​At the Dec. 20, 2022 Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board took the following action on the regular agenda:

Airports – received and filed the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Public Transportation Grant Agreement, in the amount of $388,282, for t-hangar electrical improvements at the Palm Beach County Park Airport (LNA), effective Nov. 2, 2022, expiring Dec. 31, 2024; approved an amendment to the Construction Manager at Risk Contract with The Morganti Group Inc. for Palm Beach County Department of Airports improvements in the amount of $479,604 and 196 calendar days for t-hangar electrical services improvements at LNA and exercising the third and final one year renewal option for the continuation of services; and approved a budget amendment of $388,282 in the Airport’s Improvement and Development Fund to recognize the receipt of grant funding from the FDOT.

Community Services – approved the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) FY 2021 Continuum of Care (CoC) Planning Project Grant for Oct. 1, 2022, through Sept. 20, 2023, for a total amount not to exceed $236,845, for the coordination of planning activities related to ending homelessness; approved an upward budget amendment in the amount of $64,252 in FY 2023 in the Housing and Urban Development fund to recognize the award; and approved a budget transfer in the amount of $12,850 from the General fund, Contingency Reserves to the HUD-Housing and Urban Development Fund.

Engineering & Public Works – approved the annual Five Year Road Program; approved a motion to remove a study on Northlake Boulevard from the program; and approved a motion to remove any discussions on widening Northlake Boulevard east of Beeline to Military Trail. Initiate a Comprehensive Plan Thoroughfare Right of Way Identification Map amendment for 60th Street North from 140th Street North to State Road 7 from 80 feet to 100 feet in width.

Environmental Resources Management – adopted a resolution approving a revised schedule of fees for the Department of Environmental Resources Management and repealing resolutions R2009-2017 and R1994-1052. A number of fees to be charged for permit approval, approval applications and related services that are provided for by the Unified Land Development Code and the Palm Beach County Code are being modified or eliminated.

Facilities Development & Operations – approved an amendment to the development agreement with The Related; approved an amendment to the hotel lease with CityPlace Hotel LLC; and approved an amendment easement agreement for parking spaces.

Fire Rescue – adopted a resolution authorizing the conveyance and transfer of title of an Advanced Life Support (ALS) rescue to Glades County, contingent upon receipt of $10 consideration and a duly executed Acceptance of Fire Rescue Vehicle(s) and/or Equipment Form; and providing for an effective date; adopted a resolution authorizing the conveyance and transfer of title of two ALS rescues to Gadsden County, contingent upon receipt of $10 consideration and a duly executed Acceptance of Fire Rescue Vehicle(s) and/or Equipment Form, and providing for an effective date.

Housing & Economic Development – approved a HOME Investment Partnerships Program award of $1,000,000 to SP Palm Beach LLC; directed staff to negotiate the Loan Agreement; and authorized the County Administrator or designee to execute the Loan Agreement, amendments thereto, and all other documents necessary for project implementation.

Approved a Request for Release of Funds and Certification on behalf of the county’s Community Services Department for activities approved by HUD through the Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending Program.

Planning Zoning & Building – adopted a resolution amending the official fee schedule as established in Resolution R2008-1754, to modify fees due to recent Unified Land Development Code changes, increase fees related to review of Comprehensive Plan consistency and applicable appeals and eliminate the Department of Environmental Resources Management fees that are being included in the department’s fee resolution.
