​At the May 16, 2023, Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board took the following action on the regular agenda. 

Airports – approved a $1 million increase to the term contract for airfield pavement marking services at any of the county’s four airports, including Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), Palm Beach County Glades Airport, Palm Beach County Park Airport and North Palm Beach County General Aviation Airport.

Approved a $1,189,895.34 amendment to the General Consulting Agreement with Ricondo & Associates for the continued performance of Airport General Consulting Services related to the approved Palm Beach County Airports’ Capital Improvement Program.

Approved a $20,228,016.90 contract with Ranger Construction Industries Inc., for the Central Airfield Improvements at PBI.

Environmental Resources Management – approved the initial management plan for the Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area. The plan identifies natural resources present on the natural area and identifies the strategies and techniques for the preservation, restoration, management and passive recreational use of those resources.

Facilities Development & Operations – adopted a resolution authorizing the conveyance of the county’s interest lying within the Olive Street right-of-way as dedicated by the new Palm Beach Heights plat, to the Town of Juno Beach, without charge and without reservation of mineral and petroleum rights.

Approved agreements for the purchase and sale of two 1.3-acre parcels of vacant land located north of Indiantown Road and east of Bee Line Highway from Krystyna Johns and Madeline E. Mackenzie f/k/a Madeline E. Allen. These are interior parcels located in an area known as Palm Beach Heights (part of the Pal-Mar Ecosite). The Pal-Mar Ecosite is part of a large ecological greenway that stretches from just west of the Atlantic Ocean to just east of Lake Okeechobee.

Approved a Host Shelter Contract with the City of Greenacres for use of city-owned property as a host shelter for residents who cannot return to their homes due to damage caused by an emergency event for a term of one year, with an automatic one-year renewal at a cost to be determined at time of use.

Tourist Development Council – ratified the appointment of Emanuel Perry as executive director of the Tourist Development Council.
