At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Jan. 23, 2024, Commissioner Woodward presented a proclamation declaring January 25-26, 2024 as the 24-Hour Homeless Point-In-Time Count Day in Palm Beach County. Each year, the Palm Beach County Homeless and Housing Alliance conducts the Homeless Point-in-Time Count to determine the amount of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness over a 24-hour period in the county. The 2023 count identified 1,855 individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This data helps local communities identify and plan services and programs to appropriately address local needs, measure progress in decreasing homelessness and identify strengths and gaps in a community’s current homelessness assistance system.
