At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 7, 2024, Commissioner Weiss presented a proclamation declaring May 2024 as Jewish American Heritage Month in Palm Beach County. Jewish immigrants in America, since their arrival to our shores in the 17th century, have played a central role in the creation, growth, freedom, prosperity and strength of the United States of America, and the American Jewish community has since grown to more than six million. Jewish citizens, who settled in West Palm Beach in 1892, played a central role in political, economic and social development and served in the Armed Forces of the United States and Florida National Guard.
