The Spay Shuttle is now orbiting and "docking" weekly in needy neighborhoods throughout Palm Beach County. The Spay Shuttle provides low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats.
The Spay Shuttle is a state-of-the-art mobile veterinary clinic for pet owners who may not have the available funds or transportation to have their pets surgically sterilized. The Spay Shuttle motto, "If they can't come to us, we'll go to them."
Pet surgeries are completed in the morning and animals are released to owners that same afternoon.
Pet overpopulation continues to be a serious problem for Palm Beach County. In recent years, the number of dogs and cats arriving at our animal shelters has escalated dramatically. Animals spayed/neutered today, will prevent unwanted puppies and kittens tomorrow.
Sterilization is the most humane way to reduce the surplus animal over population and prevent the birth of unwanted dogs and cats. In Palm Beach County more than 10,000 animals must be humanely euthanized annually. This is 60+ percent of all incoming abandoned animals.
Sterilizing pets helps to control the cost of operating public animal shelters. Every unwanted dog or cat NOT born in Palm Beach County results in a significant savings to taxpayers.
Spaying and neutering has also been shown to extend the life and well-being of dogs and cats by preventing cancer and tumors.
The Spay Shuttle also provides sterilization for puppies and kittens as young as six weeks old.
