How can I become a Palm Beach County Master Gardener?

Come join in the fun, help your community and learn all about homeowner horticulture in Palm Beach County!

Master Gardeners are volunteers trained by the Palm Beach County Extension Service to provide horticultural education and assistance to the residents of Palm Beach County.  The new class will start in the Spring, February 23 to June 8, 2011 and meet each consecutive Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The training is held in the Mounts Building Auditorium located at 531 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL. The cost is $199.00 (check or money order only, payable on the first day of class). This fee includes numerous books and an embroidered Master Gardener polo shirt (received at graduation). Seventy-five (75) hours of volunteer service the first year and thirty-five hours (35) each year are required to maintain Master Gardener certification.

If you are interested in becoming a Master Gardener Volunteer, download the application and return it to the Master Gardener Education and Development Office (FAX or mail). Most importantly if you would like to recommend another plant person to the program who you think would make a great volunteer have them fill out the MG application NOW! Also, consider auditing the new MG training classes of your choice-updates to the class training with program topic and dates are coming soon!
