Community Nutrition Programs
Palm Beach County/UF-IFAS Extension offers nutrition education to groups of ALL ages. Nutrition education is delivered at your location by trained program assistants.

The Family Nutrition Program (FNP)

The Family Nutrition Program (FNP) offers a FREE series of nutrition education classes to community partners from pre-school to elders.

The USDA Family Nutrition Program offers age appropriate nutrition education in a single lesson or series of classes delivered at the community partner site*. Classes are 30-45 minutes in length and meets Florida State Standards for Education.

Jump Start Nutrition - Four sessions for K-2nd grade students to learn basic nutrition introducing the MyPyramid and exploring the food groups.

Taking Care of Me – Four to six sessions for 3rd-5th grade students to learn the importance of applying good nutrition practices, exercise, food choices, and body image.

Invest in Yourself – Four to six sessions for 6th-12th grade students promoting wise adolescent nutrition and healthy choices. Students will examine attitudes about weight, dieting dangers, assessing and selecting informed food choices and investigating healthy lifestyles.


The Expanded Family Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)

The Expanded Family Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) offers a series of FREE in-depth nutrition education for adults including a 24-hour food recall evaluation.

The USDA Expanded Family Nutrition Program offers adult nutrition education to food stamp or food stamp eligible individuals and families. A series of 6-7 lessons includes a comprehensive diet evaluation using a pre and post 24 hour recall.

Nutrition Essentials - A series twelve nutrition topics teaching balance, variety, and moderation in developing healthy lifestyle choices. MyPyramid is introduced; portion size, meal planning, shopping, label reading, and the importance of active lifestyles are investigated.
