Maintain 3,193 lane miles of paved roads, 142 lane miles of shell rock roads, 189 miles of asphalt bikepaths, 920 miles of concrete sidewalks, and mow 2,419 acres of Road right of way. Develop and manage an annual resurfacing program. Manage the construction of new asphalt pathways, traffic calming devices such as speed humps and round abouts, intersection improvements, drainage improvements, street improvements, and concrete sidewalks. Maintenance activities include, but are not limited to, grading county maintained shell rock roads, patching potholes, mowing right of ways, repairing pathways and sidewalks, clean and maintain storm drain systems, cleaning drainage ditches, removing and or trimming trees (safety-related), and responding to citizen inquiries and complaints about our services. After hours emergency service available through the Emergency Operating Center.

Maintain 8 Bascule Bridges over the Intracoastal Waterway and one Swing Bridge at Point Chosen. Maintain 271 various types of fixed bridges, including interstate highway crossings, canal crossings, and pedestrian bridges. This maintenance includes but is not limited to electrical, mechanical, and structural repairs. Conduct routine Bridge inspections as required.  Oversee the maintenance and construction of guardrails on County roads.  Construct concrete sidewalks, storm drain structures, handicap ramps, and upgrade bridge parapets.  Respond to citizen inquiries related to Bridge problems.  Staff the Bascule Bridges with Bridge tenders 24 hours a day 7 days a week. After hours service available through the Emergency Operating Center.

Operate and maintain two sand transfer plants- the Palm Beach Inlet, and the Boynton Inlet. Manage the Road and Bridge warehouse. Provide Support services to Road and Bridge for some drainage repairs i.e. slip lining damaged, or deteriorated storm drain culverts, welding services, and a variety of specialty services related to pumping. After hours services available through the Emergency Operating Center.
