- Developed and implemented the Natural Areas Ordinance to provide regulatory protection for the lands acquired by the County
- Revised the Vegetation Preservation Ordinance to reduce the amount of pollutants dumped into county water bodies.
- Created a Sea Turtle Lighting enforcement program and significantly reduced the number of noncompliant lights on the County's beaches
- Coordinated with the Palm Beach County Planning, Zoning and Building Department to have building inspectors check for irrigation sensors required by the Water and Irrigation Ordinance and with the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department to provide electronic notification to ERM of watering violations using meter reader personnel.
- Created the Environmental Assessment Index to provide the public and staff with easy access to site information for environmental auditing and permit processing.
- Set up inspection and compliance procedures for preserves required to be set aside through the development review process. Eliminated the requirement for setting aside property from true single-family residential areas.
