LAKE WORTH LAGOON PARTNERSHIP GRANT PROGRAM and CHAIN OF LAKES PARTNERSHIP GRANT PROGRAM REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS STATE FISCAL YEAR 2007-08

This notice is to advise you that, beginning March 5, 2007, Palm Beach County will be soliciting applications for construction projects to benefit the water quality and habitat in Lake Worth Lagoon (LWL) and Chain of Lakes (COL). COL includes Pine Lake, Lake Clarke, Lake Osborne, Lake Ida, and Lake Eden.

Completed applications for State Fiscal Year 2007-08 are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 13, 2007. For each project, please submit one original application and six copies to: LWL/FW Grant Coordinator, Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management, 2300 North Jog Road, 4th Floor, West Palm Beach, Florida 33411-2743. For those who submitted a Lake Worth Lagoon Partnership Grant Program application last year, you have the option of submitting an entirely new application or requesting that ERM use last year's application provided that you submit a new schedule and cost estimate (see application for details). If you need further information please contact the grant coordinator listed below. We strongly encourage potential applicants to call the grant coordinator to discuss proposals in detail prior to submittal.

Selection committees will meet in July 2007, to determine the final grant awards based on the approved state budget and the grant criteria. A COL selection committee will meet separately to determine final grants awards, also in July 2007. Grant applicants will be required to provide a brief oral presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. Applicants will be notified regarding a time for their presentations.

We encourage your participation in the continuing process to improve LWL and COL and will be happy to provide guidance as to how your agency can contribute to this effort.
Please note that the application is formatted/limited to three (3) pages plus attachments.
