The County Cable Television Office, a Division of the Public Affairs Department, oversees the activities of the cable television industry in the unincorporated areas of the County and ensures that local cable franchises comply with the County Cable Television Ordinance. Periodic inspections are made to ensure that equipment is in good order and properly installed. This Office provides various types of information to the public and mediates cable service complaints. It coordinates franchise applications between the potential franchisee and the Board of County Commissioners and collects franchise fees.

Nursing home care is not always the answer.; CARES informs and recommends services that seem best suited to individual needs. These services may take place in the home or other setting. Many of these services are free of charge if certain criteria are met. The goal of CARES is to help the elderly remain at home when possible. Criminal History Records Check for County Contractors/Vendors 355-3235
The Palm Beach County Criminal History Records Check Ordinance requires vendors, contractors and sub-contractors, who will work, unescorted, in a facility determined to be critical to public safety or security to complete a criminal history record check. The Access Section, located at 3323 Belvedere Road, Bldg. 503, WPB, will finger-print each individual using a computerized system, where the prints will be electronically transmitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a state and national criminal history records check.

The Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) is the advisory board to the BCC on all criminal justice programs, policies and funding. It was created by County Ordinance 88-16. Its 33 members are criminal justice system agency heads representing municipal, county, state and federal government and 12 appointed business leaders. The CJC coordinates law enforcement planning, oversees the jail population projections, alternative sanctions, grant and trust fund allocations and strives to reduce crime and improve the criminal justice system. This work is doe through many committees made up of technical experts throughout the County.

Court Administration. Performs court-ordered evaluations for the Family Court Judges in contested custody cases. Evaluations may be performed in Intermediary Adoption cases and in Domestic Assault cases.
