Senior Citizens Tax Exemption    355-2866  GC-1st Floor
Certain senior citizens may be eligible for an additional $25,000 exemption on their property's assessed value. The exemption does not apply to other taxing authorities, such as the school district and municipalities. You must be 65 or older with a maximum income level that is adjusted each year for inflation. Provides a range of services to persons 60 or older. The services include congregate meals and medical services. Recreational and educational programs are offered at three Senior Centers as well as at the congregate meal sites. Homebound senior citizens may also be eligible to receive home-delivered meals, homemaker services, personal care services, respite care or day-care services. Eligibility for in-home services is based on the individual’s level of functional impairment and social or economic need.

The Solid Waste Authority of PBC (SWA) is the public agency providing the county with a comprehensive and cost-effective system for solid waste disposal. This system currently includes a waste-to-energy plant, a series of transfer stations, landfill operations, a compost facility, hazardous waste collection programs and a materials recycling facility (MRF). SWA also contracts for garbage and recycling collection for the unincorporated areas Palm Beach County only.
