State law requires voters to notify the Supervisor of Elections of any change in their residence address. A change of address can be submitted in person at any Elections Office or polling place (on election day) by completing a Florida Voter Registration Application and mailing it to the Elections Office, or by mailing a letter and/or the voter registration card with the new address on the back to: Supervisor of Elections Office, P.O. Box 22309, WPB 33416. A new card with a new precinct number and polling location will be returned by mail. A change of name may be requested in the same manner as above. A new card will be returned by mail.

Only Democratic and Republican parties hold primary elections in Florida. Voters must be registered with one of these parties to vote in the primary elections. All registered voters may vote in nonpartisan and general elections. A change of party affiliation may be made either by mail or in person at any Elections Office. Party changes made while the Books are closed for the First Primary Election will not be effective until after the Election.

To register to vote, a person must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old on or before election day, and a legal resident of Palm Beach County. A person may pre-register during his/her 17th year. (Note: If applicant has been convicted of a felony, his/her civil rights must be restored. If declared mentally incompetent, competency must be restored). Proof of residency is not required to register to vote. The registration books close 29 days before each election. A Florida Voter Registration Application is available by mail by calling the Elections Office. Voter Registration Applications are available at most city halls, banks, public assistance agencies, county and municipal libraries, driver’s license offices and at all Supervisor of Elections offices.

The Supervisor of Elections office will mail an ADDRESS CONFIRMATION FINAL NOTICE to voters who have had First-Class mail sent by the Elections Office returned by the Post Office or have notified the Jury Commission that the voter has moved out of Palm Beach County. The voter must complete, sign and return the ADDRESS CONFIRMATION FINAL NOTICE within 30 days of receipt or they will be placed in an “INACTIVE” status. The voter will remain INACTIVE for a period covering two Federal Elections. The voter may be reactivated and will be eligible to vote during this period by contacting the Elections Office in writing or by appearing at his/her current polling place on election day.
