ACCESS AGREEMENTS

The County has arranged for three (3) different types of access agreements designed to provide non-County agencies access to the County’s 800 MHz System. These agreements are:

  • The Direct Access Agreement allows for full time use of the Palm Beach County 800 MHz System for intra-agency and inter-agency communications. The Agreement allows for the activation of the talk-groups and radio ID’s reserved for the agency. The agency will have to complete the Direct Access Interlocal and pay the County the Start-Up fee, Maintenance, and Renewal/Replacement fee per the Inter-local Agreement.  The fees charged to non-county entities are identical to those charged to County departments.

  • The Interoperability (Common Talk-Group) Agreement allows for usage of the County’s Common Talk Groups for inter-agency communication. The Common TG’s are set up for inter-agency communication and not for day-to day communications. The use of the Common Talk-Groups is free to any government agency wishing to access them. The County has arranged for 16 Common Talk-Groups for interoperability and have designated 3 calling talk-groups that are monitored by the County’s Emergency Operations Center, Sheriff’s Office, and County Fire Rescue. These Talk-Groups are available to any public service agency wishing to program these talk-groups for interoperability.  Reprogramming assistance is available upon request.

  • EMS/Hospital/Patient Carrier Agreement allows for full time use of the Palm Beach County 800 MHz System for EMS Communications. The County EMS dispatch will oversee the utilization of the County’s EMS Talk-Groups. The requesting agency will have to complete the EMS/Hospital/Patient Carrier Agreement. The EMS/Hospital/Patient Carrier Agreement is free to any Public Safety agency wishing to access them. The County has arranged for 10 MedCom Talk-Groups and one (1) Med Control Talk Group for County-Wide EMS communications.
