Coop Extension volunteers

  • Palm Beach County operates nature centers at Okeeheelee and South County Regional parks and Green Cay Wetlands. The centers feature interactive and live exhibits and many free and low-cost environmental education tours and programs. The surrounding sanctuaries include nature trails and boardwalks for close-up views of local plants and wildlife.
  • Okeeheelee Nature Center - 233-1400
    This sanctuary features nature trails winding through 90 acres of native pine flatwoods and wetlands. Hands-on exhibits, nature walks and other environmental education programs are available.
  • Daggerwing Nature Center - 629-8760
    This center includes an interactive exhibit area, classroom facilities laboratory and a 2,000-foot elevated pine boardwalk leading through a wet forest.
  • Green Cay Nature Center & Wetlands - 966-7000
    This center features 1.5 miles of elevated boardwalk and overlooks 100 acres of constructed wetlands and provides educational opportunities about this unique habitat.
