What are CWGIS Products?
Countywide GIS(CWGIS) products include computerized applications, maps, data and analyses. These tools provide users with both statistical and visually enhanced methods of utilizing Palm Beach County specific data.
What is myGeoNav?
myGeoNav is a Palm Beach County geographic mapping website that can be personalized by the individual user. You can search Palm Beach County property data (by name, address, tax parcel, municipal) information and save aerial maps, or your start-up view based on your preferences. Short video tutorials are available (by clicking on the white-surrounded-by-blue questions marks) showing how to use every feature. You can also download geographic data from with the application.
What is Pictometry?
Pictometry is aerial imagery taken at a 40 degree angle from low flying airplanes. The imagery shows buildings, infrastructure, and land from all sides. By using myGeoNav to access Pictometry you get the most up-to-date version of this imagery for Palm Beach County, at the highest resolution available.
What is the difference between the aerial photos I see in myGeoNav and the aerial photos that are shown in Pictometry?
The aerial photos in myGeoNav is a photo of the ground, from an elevated position, looking straight down, "an overhead view". Pictometry provides multiple aerial photos of the same location, but at 40 degree angles. These angles allow the viewer to see structural features (windows, doors, etc.) views on each side of a building, that would not be seen from the overhead view aerial.
How do I access myGeoNav from a County computer?
Go to the county's intranet home page: pbcportal.pbcgov.org, go to the pull down menu Online Services, click myGeoNav Countywide GIS. The myGeoNav application will launch on your screen.
How do I access myGeoNav at home from the Internet?
Go to www.pbcgov.org, go to the I Want To tab and click on Find a Property. Or, from that same page you can go to the Business tab and click on County Geographic Information. The myGeoNav application will launch on your screen
Is there a schedule for Updates to CWGIS Products?
Countywide GIS (CWGIS) products are continuously being updated to enable government and its citizens to find information based on geographic locations. For detailed layer information you can search the GIS Data Catalog at: http://www.pbcgov.org/iss/itoperations/cwgis/GISdatasearch/. Access the GIS Data Catalog from within the myGeoNav application by clicking the GIS Resources link at the top right-hand side of the page, and then click Data Catalog on the left under GIS Information. GIS data can also be downloaded from this site.

GIS data can also be downloaded from this site.
Is there a schedule for Updates to Aerial Photography?
Aerial photography is currently updated every other year, typically flown in December or January. Please note, however, update cycles are subject to change.
How do I keep my custom layer settings in myGeoNav?
Click on the grayMap Layers button on the top right, and then click Save Layer Settings once you have selected the GIS map layers you want to save. Click on the gray Map Layers button again to hide the selection box.
Why are the Zoom Levels fixed to specific resolutions?
The zoom bar at the top of the myGeoNav page allows you to quickly zoom in and out at incremental levels by dragging the arrow across the zoom bar, right or left. You can also use the Zoom In or Zoom Out buttons, or drag and draw a box with your mouse to get to the view level you wish to see.
Are 360 Degree Street Photos available in myGeoNav?
Yes, once you select a property, click on the Tools tab, then click the Pictometry/bing button. This will open up a bing map window where you click on the Bird's eye view button. Expand this window and you will be able to zoom in and rotate the image for a 360 degree view, by clicking the curved arrows located in the top right side of the image. Simply close the window to return to myGeoNav.
How do I email a copy of a map that I am reviewing in myGeoNav?
Click on the Tools tab on the left side of the screen, scroll down to e-mail map, which will automatically open your default e-mail client and insert a link to the map.
How do I print a map in myGeoNav (how to print at a desired scale)?
First zoom into the specific area you wish to print. Click the Print tab on the left side of the screen near the bottom. Adjust the image as necessary, and then click one of the three options listed (Portrait, Portrait - No Property Info, Landscape - No Property Info), add a title or print with the Parcel Control Number (PCN) as your title, and then click Print my Map.
How do I print a map at a desired scale in myGeoNav?

Why is it better to use myGeoNav than Google Maps?
myGeoNav has the most up-to-date information on Palm Beach County. It also contains over 100 data layers from across the county in one, easy-to-use interface. myGeoNav integrates well with Google Maps (under the Tools tab) to provide you the best information and features to meet your geographic, mapping and navigation needs.
Can I type in a measurment and have the dimensions calculate?
That capability is not available at this time.
How do I Search using the Municipality drop down?
In the Search tab,below the address option, you will find Search by City which is a drop down menu. Click the down arrow, highlight the municipality you want, and the application will automatically take you to the city you select.
Can I copy and paste query data (PCN / Address) into myGeoNav?
You can copy information from a spreadsheet or document and paste it into the Search fields using standard Windows commands; however, you cannot copy information from the Results tab.
How do you compare current aerials to historic aerials?
Click on the Tools tab, scroll down to Set Opacity, check the box of the two aerials that you want turned on, then move the slider to the left to see less of the particular aerial and to the right to see more of it.
How do I save the map area I'm working on in myGeoNav?
Once you have the area and layers you want showing on the screen, click the myMaps tab on the left side menu. Type in a name for your map, and then click the Save myMap button below. When you re-open the myGeoNav application, go to the myMaps tab and click on the name of your saved map. This will take you to the area of the map where you were previously working.
Where are the video tutorials for myGeoNav?
Brief video tutorials can be found for each feature by clicking on the white "?" inside the blue circles
that are beside the options menus on the left side of the screen.
How do I contact someone if I'm having a problem?
Click the Contact us link on top right side of the page. A new page will come up on the screen for you to send us your comments and feedback.
What if the application is not responding?
There are various reasons why this could occur, and most of the time it can be remedied by one of the following steps:
a) Try refreshing your browser, or closing and re-opening the application.
b) You may need to clear the cache on your computer by hitting Control F5 (ctrl-F5).
c) The layer you wish to see may require that you zoom out in order to see the desired information. Please let us know if this does not resolve your problem.
