Commissioner Kanjian Visits Northwood Youth Empowerment Center

Commissioner Bob Kanjian took the opportunity to visit and tour the County’s first Youth Empowerment Center located in the Old Northwood area of West Palm Beach.  Established as part of the Youth Violence Prevention Project, the Northwood Center will be one of five located throughout the county.  Other locations will include Belle Glade, Riviera Beach, Lake Worth and Boynton Beach.

he centers incorporate teen-specific activities and after-school programs for ages 13 through 18, such as employment services, education opportunities, tutoring, mentoring, audio-visual production and marketing, computer hardware technology and other components of the Youth Violence Prevention Plan.
