Commissioner Koons Speaks at FAA Meeting

Commissioner Jeff Koons was invited by U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Miramar) to speak at a Jan. 14 meeting organized by Federal Aviation Administration officials. The commissioner spoke in opposition to the FAA's plan to eliminate the Terminal Radar Approach Control System, or TRACON, at Palm Beach International Airport. The FAA is proposing to use a system in Miami instead. Several air traffic controllers, pilots and elected officials attended the meeting at the Clayton Hutcheson Ag Center.
