The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners is considering establishing an overlay to guide future development in the Central-Western Communities, an unincorporated area of approximately 43,000 acres generally located west of Royal Palm Beach between Northlake and Southern boulevards.
The overlay would replace the sector plan which was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners in 2005, but which was found not to be in compliance with state requirements, and was subsequently repealed by the BCC.
A community meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 30, at 6 p.m. in the Media Room of Seminole Ridge Community High School to update residents on the planning effort to date and to obtain public comment and input on issues and topics related to development in the rural-residential area.
For further information, please contact the Palm Beach County Planning Division at 561-233-5300. Seminole Ridge Community High School is located at 4601 Seminole Pratt-Whitney Road, approximately 2.5 miles north of Okeechobee Boulevard on the west side.
