Commissioner Koons emceed a ceremony celebrating a new Art in Public Places project installed at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Illumination of the "Wave" took place in the evening of Jan. 13.

Just as it was getting dark, the LED lights in the five 30-foot arcs were turned on for the first time. This is the Convention Center’s first public art project.

The “Wave,” designed by Artist Barbara Grygutis, was recently installed on the northwest corner of the Convention Center and is clearly visible from Okeechobee Boulevard. At night the lights cycle through shades of blue, evoking the rolls of waves on the shore.
