The Palm Beach County Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Management has activated the Cold Weather Emergency Shelter Plan for all of Palm Beach County for this evening (Tuesday). The following cold weather emergency shelter locations will be open beginning at 6 p.m. until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Transportation can be arranged by dialing 211 (Palm Beach County Crisis Line). Residents seeking refuge from the cold in western Palm Beach County should contact their local police department or dial 211.
Temperatures are expected fall into the mid to upper 30s over much of South Florida. When coupled with northerly winds in the 5 to 10 mph range, these temperatures will result in wind chill values between 25 and 35 degrees over most of mainland South Florida. The Palm Beach County Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor weather developments and make announcements on any further shelter openings as necessary.
