The Palm Beach County Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Management has activated the Cold Weather Emergency Shelter Plan for all of Palm Beach County for this evening (Wednesday). The following cold weather emergency shelter will be open beginning at 6 p.m.
Salvation Army Center of Hope

West Palm Beach, FL
For West County residents the following cold weather shelter location will open beginning at 7 p.m.
West County Senior Citizens Center
2916 State Road 15
Belle Glade, FL 33430
Transportation can be arranged by dialing 211 (Palm Beach County Crisis Line). Residents seeking refuge from the cold in western Palm Beach County should contact their local police department or dial 211.
A very cold air mass will continue to spread down the Florida Peninsula and into South Florida today and tonight. Clear skies
and expected along with light winds tonight and early Thursday
morning could result in temperatures dropping to below freezing
across most of the interior sections of Mainland South Florida. Low temperatures as cold as 30 degrees are possible in the western areas.
The Palm Beach County Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor weather developments and make announcements on any further shelter openings as necessary.
