Message from Comissioner Vana - January 2010

I hope you all are off to a happy and healthy 2010.   As I look forward to my second year as County Commissioner for District 3, I consider it an honor to be able to serve you in this capacity.  Although all predictions indicate that 2010 will be another challenging year, I am hopeful that things are beginning to change for the positive.

We still however have very critical budget decisions to make and I will look for your input as I make these difficult decisions.  I believe that with the implementation of the new Inspector General and Ethics Commission we are making progress in restoring trust in our government. 

Continued economic development is of great concern.  I will join my fellow commissioners in supporting the Chairman’s priority of fostering job growth.

We must continue to work with the school district and the sheriff’s office to utilize our resources effectively to keep our youth engaged and out of trouble.  

Palm Beach County is a beautiful place in which to live.  We all have to do our parts to make sure we keep it growing and getting better while protecting our precious environment.
