The Palm Beach County Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Management has activated the Cold Weather Emergency Shelter Plan for all of Palm Beach County for this evening (Wednesday). The following cold weather emergency shelters will be open beginning at 7 p.m.

Transportation can be arranged by dialing 211 (Palm Beach County Crisis Line). Residents seeking refuge from the cold in western Palm Beach County should contact their local police department or dial 211.
A strong cold front will sweep across the area this afternoon with high pressure of Arctic origin building in behind the front tonight. This will allow temperatures to plummet across the area... with freezing temperatures likely after midnight tonight through early Thursday morning. In fact... a hard freeze is expected with temperatures lowering into the middle to upper 20s.
The Palm Beach County Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor weather developments and make announcements on any further shelter openings as necessary.
