Commissioner Vana Attends S.T.A.R.S. Conference

	Commissioner Vana addresses more than 300 people who attended the event.

On Feb. 7, 2009, Commissioner Shelley Vana attended the fifth annual S.T.A.R.S. (Start Transition and Realize Success) conference for students with disabilities.  The event was held by the United Way and other sponsors at the John I. Leonard High School in Greenacres.  It is designed to encourage students with disabilities and their families to utilize self-advocacy and school services to transition from high school to community life, and to achieve post-high school goals.
