County Plan to End Homelessness Earns High Praise from Executive Director of US Interagency Council

The Board of County Commissioners welcomed the head of the US Interagency Council on Homelessness at its February 24 meeting. Philip Mangano received a personal copy of the county’s recently adopted 10-year plan to end homelessness.

“You are in line with the great moral movement in this country,” Mangano said. He praised the inclusion of the business community and service agencies in the county’s comprehensive collaborative effort, adding that more resources than ever before are now available from the federal government, including several billion dollars in the federal stimulus package.

Mangano was appointed executive director of the US Interagency Council on Homelessness in 2002 by President Bush.
