The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department will host an
Open House and Ribbon Cutting Friday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.,
at the department's recently upgraded Water Treatment Plant 3, located at
13026 Jog Road, Delray Beach.
The improvements have increased the plant's production capacity to 30 million gallons of drinking water per day, making it one of the largest water treatment plants of its kind in the United States.
“We are inviting residents within the community to join us for the celebration. This plant utilizes state-of-the-art nanotechnology to provide the best and safest quality drinking water,” said Department Director Bevin A. Beaudet, P.E.
District 5 Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson will lead a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Visitors will be offered tours of the facility, and light refreshments will be served.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department provides superior quality drinking water to approximately 450,000 residents in the central and south-central unincorporated areas of the county.
