            The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department is holding a Lake Region Water Treatment Plant open house celebration today.

            Commissioner Jess Santamaria is among the invited speakers.  The facility serves the 25,000 residents of Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay without reliance on surface water from Lake Okeechobee.  The water treatment plant is a reverse-osmosis facility that treats brackish water from the Floridan aquifer to the highest quality standards.
