Commission on Ethics Selects Top Seven Candidates for Executive Director Position
On March 18, the five-member Commission on Ethics held its second official meeting to review applications and create a short list for the executive director position. Assistant County Administrator Brad Merriman opened the meeting, and David Baker, chair of the Inspector General and Commission on Ethics Implementation Advisory Committee gave a brief history on how the ethics initiative came to fruition. Of the 48 applicants for executive director, the commission voted to interview seven finalists and tentatively scheduled the day of interviews for Saturday April 24. Three of the finalists have applied for both the inspector general and executive director positions. On March 25, the Inspector General Selection Committee which consists of the Public Defender, State Attorney and the Commission on Ethics will meet to review inspector general candidates at 4 p.m. in the Governmental Center, 12th floor McEaddy Conference Room. # # #
