The Palm Beach County Office of Financial Management and Budget (OFMB) has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
This marks the 20th consecutive year that OFMB has been recognized by the Chicago-based nonprofit professional organization.
The award reflects a commitment to meet the highest principles of government budgeting. In order to receive it, OFMB had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to show how well the Palm Beach County budget serves as: a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
Richard Roberts, Director of OFMB, accepted the Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation on behalf of his staff.
The Government Finance Officers Association serves 16,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The organization’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards program is the only national awards program for governmental budgeting.
