It's a smoother ride these days for many Acreage residents thanks to the paving of portions of four roads arranged by Commissioner Tony Masilotti. Sections of 89th Place, 78th Place, 61st Street and 88th Place have been paved as part of an ongoing municipal services taxing unit (MSTU) project in The Acreage.
"These are the first of four roads out of a total of 10 that we're doing," said Commissioner Masilotti. "We are always looking for ways to improve our neighborhoods and retain property values. This is an excellent program and I'm happy to be able to provide it to our residents."
Other road improvements in this MSTU project include the paving of portions of 129th Avenue, 89th Place, 63rd Lane, 88th Place, 90th Street and 41st Court.
In December, Commissioner Masilotti held a meeting at Seminole Ridge High School in Loxahatchee to explain details of the project. Under the MSTU program, the County pays for half the costs associated with road paving and abutting property owners pay the other half financed over 10 years, or if they wish, they can pay off the debt service early.
