Reception for the winners will be held on April 30 at the Governmental Center
To help raise public awareness of local, state and national fair housing laws’ success in eliminating housing discrimination, the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches (RAPB) in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Office of Equal Opportunity is sponsoring a Fair Housing Poster and Essay Contest for 3rd, 7th and 11th graders throughout Palm Beach County. The theme for the essay and poster contest is "40 Years . . . Keeping the Dream of Fair Housing". The contest is an excellent way to help school children understand the need for fair housing for all. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 15 and a reception for the winners will be held on April 30 at the Jane M. Memorial Chambers in the Palm Beach County Governmental Center.
This year's contest includes a poster contest for third- and seventh-graders, a poster and essay contest for seventh- graders and eleventh-graders and an essay and video/DVD contest for 11th graders, all depicting this year's theme, "40 Years. . . Keeping the Dream of Fair Housing". All posters and essays will be displayed at the Boynton Beach Mall and other locations throughout the County and cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners.
Local newspapers will run the winning posters in their newspapers.
