“Uniting the Western Communities” was the theme of Commissioner Jess Santamaria’s monthly community forum on April 16. Invited speakers included three newly elected west area municipal leaders: Wellington Mayor Darell Bowen, Wellington Village Councilman Matt Willhite and Royal Palm Beach Village Councilwoman Martha Webster. Discussion topics included a proposed Palm Beach Community College campus in Wellington, the Acme Road enclave, “green” development, the so-called Acreage reliever road (State Road 7 extension), and proposed development of Callery-Judge Grove. About 100 citizens attended the gathering.
