Commissioner Jeff Koons welcomed guests to the NFL Emerging Business Workshop held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center on Wednesday, April 22.  Deputy County Administrator Verdenia Baker also gave opening remarks at the event. Hundreds of small business owners from the Palm Beach  County area attended.

The purpose of the event was to provide small, minority-, and women-owned businesses with training on how to gain business related to Super Bowl XLIV, which is coming to South Florida in 2010.  At  the workshop, participants heard directly from Super Bowl purchasing entities and engaged in business-to-business networking.

The event also included breakout sessions for participants on a variety of topics, including certification, RFPs, funding, bonding and insurance and  mentorship.
