AC&C Asks Public to Report Sightings of Two Aggressive Dogs Currently Running Loose
On Thursday, April 23, 2009, a five-pound Pomeranian named Bandit was viciously attacked and killed by two large dogs at a residence in Indian Pines Estates located at Lantana and Jog Roads. Bandit was grabbed by the two dogs while trying to escape into the house with the owner. Witnesses stated they saw the two dogs running down the street with the small limp dog in the mouth of one of the dogs.
The two dogs have previously been seen in the neighborhood running loose and have tried to bite several people. One dog is described as a tan and white, floppy-eared pit bull and the other as a red chow recently groomed with a lion cut.
Animal Care and Control is concerned that these dogs could kill or attack other small dogs or cats. Dogs in a pack may show signs of aggression toward people or attack other animals for no apparent reason. Any dog that has killed other pets should be reported to Animal Care and Control immediately.
Officials are asking residents to keep a watchful eye for the two dogs and if they have any information on their whereabouts to report it to Animal Care and Control, (561) 233-1200, ext. 0.
