The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, through the Economic Development Office, has disbursed a $257,000 loan from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 108 Loan Program to F&T of Belle Glade, Inc.
The real estate development company converted an existing 4,300-square-foot building on South Main Street in Belle Glade to a modern office structure that now houses the Florida Department of Corrections as its anchor tenant.
This rehabilitation project strengthens the local economy by providing local job opportunities, improving the façade of Main Street and increasing the city’s tax base.
“It is always gratifying to facilitate projects that will help with the economic recovery in the Glades, by providing more jobs and a brighter future for its residents,” said District 6 Commissioner Jess Santamaria.
