Commissioner Bob Kanjian attended the May 2008 meeting of COBWRA to discuss a bill passed by the Florida legislature to support early diagnosis and treatment of autism.

In discussing his role as a member of the Governor’s Statewide Task Force on Autism Spectrum Disorders, he outlined his support for passage of this bill and the significance of the bill’s provisions for parents of children born with autism and related neurological disorders.  Under the new legislation, families will have medical insurance coverage of up to $36,000 a year for treatment with a total cap of $200,000.
