Commissioner Kanjian Supports Drowning Prevention Awareness Campaign for Summer Swimming Safety

Commissioner Bob Kanjian spoke at a joint press conference held at the County's Lake Lytal swimming pool in conjunction with the Florida Department of Children and Families.  With school out and children trying to cool off while enjoying water sports, the Commissioner directed his message toward parents to be mindful to keep an eye on youngsters.

The Palm Beach County Drowning Prevention Coalition has partnered with the Florida Department of Children and Families to assist qualified families to obtain free or affordable swimming lessons.  The Coalition also distributes water safety information at health and safety fairs throughout the County and offers free, land-based water safety presentations to K-12 students, adult organizations and summer camps.
