County Employees to Celebrate Centennial with Brown Bag Lunch

To commemorate the creation of the County, at Noon on July 1st, 2009, The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners is holding a Centennial Celebration Brown Bag Lunch in the courtyard of the Palm Beach County Governmental Center in West Palm Beach. The program will include comments from Palm Beach County Commissioners, a presentation from the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, photos and music. There will also be self-guided tours of the Palm Beach County History Museum located within the 1916 Court House. Palm Beach County was created in 1909 from Dade County, which at the time, stretched from the St. Lucie River to the tip of the Florida Peninsula.
